The McDonald's Jr A Tigers had 3 games this week.
They travelled to Moncton last Thursday night
to tangle with the Beavers. Both goalies stood
strong as the Tigers outshot Moncton 48-39. Overtime
settled nothing as both teams skated to a 2-2
tie.
Tigers
goals came from Colby Nichol ( David Shkreli)
& Phil Nazair (Nichol, Fecteau). On Friday
night your McDonald Jr A Tigers were host to the
Antigonish Bulldogs. The tigers led after the
1st period 2-1 with goals by St Arthur's Rene
Savoie (Trudel,Comeau) and Comeau (Savoie,Trudel).
In the second period the tigers added 2 goals
by Colby Nichol & David Shkreli (Nichol, Nazair).
And finally both teams traded goals in the 3rd
as Wendell Watson score his 10th goal of the season
with the help of Mike Floyd & Alex Soucy.
Both teams had about 30 shots and the Tigers walked
away with a 5-2 win, 1 goal short of everyone
getting a free Big Mac!! Maybe next time!!
On
Sunday the Tigers travelled to Charlottetown for
a game against the Abbies. Well it was all Campbellton
in this one as your McDonald's Jr A Tigers demolished
the Abbies 6-2. Tigers Wendell Watson led the
charge with 2 goals & 2 assists. Other tigers
scorers were Chris Ennis (7) (Watson,Carter),
Mike Floyd (9)( Watson, Simonson) Rene Savoie
(2) (Leblanc, Pell) & David Shkreli (NIchol,
Nazair). What a great weekend with 5 out of 6
points to move your tigers tied into first place
with Miramichi and a game in hand. Goaltender
Ryan Mensing was back in fine form as he gave
up only 6 goals in 3 games.
Unfortunately,
it wasn't all good news this week as Listuguj
native Denzel Isaac was operated on Wednesday
morning to repair a broken arm that he suffered
last week in a game in Charlottetown from a vicious
slash from Abbies forward Jamieson Chisolm. Isaac
will be out for at least 8 to10 weeks but will
return to the team after Christmas. We wish Denzel
a speedy recovery as he is a big part of our team.
McDonald's
Jr A Tigers next home game will be Nov 12, 8pm
as they host the Weeks Crushers from Pictou County,
NS.
Don't miss it, who knows you might go home with
a free Big Mac!!!
